Telangana state BJP president, Kishan Reddy has appealed women in the state to participate in the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s Clean India initiative.Speaking at a Swachh Bharat programme organized by women organizations, Kishan Reddy urged women folk to take forward the Clean India initiative as a movement. He asked people to participate in the cause of clean India mission and said even President, Prime Minister, governors, ministers and other public representatives were participating in the programme. Kishan Reddy said that mandal/divisional committees would be formed irrespective of political relationship and asked the party activists to adopt a basti, lane and move forward for clean India.Speaking on the occasion, he said that Swachh Bharat programme on a big scale would be organized at Gandhi Medical College on October 18, and asked women, students to participate in large numbers. Kishan Reddy also said that he would write letters to famous personalities in the state for participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission. BJP activists staged a dharna in front of the Ranga Reddy collectorate office in a protest against power cuts in the state. Pointing out farmers suicides in the state, BJP state president Kishan Raid questioned “Is Bangaaru Telangana means farmers suicides in the state.” Further, he said that KCR is not responding to the issue despite farmer’s suicides in the state due to power cuts.He alleged that farmers are committing suicides in the KCR’s family rule. The state BJP President G Kishan Reddy has slammed TRS government over the students' tuition fees reimbursement issue in the state.He wondered how students would obtain certificates proving their nativity before 1956, as laid down in a new scheme. The Telangana government has recently decided to introduce a new scheme 'Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana' (FAST) and the students should be natives of Telangana before 1956 to benefit from the scheme. Speaking to Media, Reddy said that only some forward communities had lands before 1956 period and there were no proper records regarding the nativity. Implementing the scheme affects many students, especially those belonging to weaker sections. He said the tuition fees reimbursement scheme has enabled thousands of poor students to go for higher education in the last several years. Agreeing that there are certain loopholes in the tuition fees reimbursement scheme, he said it is the responsibility of the government to get them rectified."Fees reimbursement should be given to Telangana students," he said in reply to a query. Reddy said BJP President Amit Shah would visit Hyderabad, tentatively in the third week of August.Read More
