Gangapuram Kishan Reddy was born to Swamy Reddy and Andalamma at Timmapur village in Kandukur Mandal, RangaReddy district. He was born on May15, 1964.
He started his political career as a party worker (Karya Kartha) of the Bharatiya Janata Party and went on to become the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, which has more than 2 crore members.
He gained great support base amongst the youth, women and the poor with his pragmatic policies and commitment to the party's core ideology. Mr. Reddy has selflessly worked for the past 27 years in and is seen as a true Leader and an inspiration to the youth.
Kishan Reddy joined the party in 1980 when it was formed from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. To this date Mr. Reddy displays the same enthusiasm as he seeks to build the party at the ground level. He played a key role in all party conferences and movements.
He was able to show his intrepid nature and fearless attitude and worked very hard in addressing issues that were affecting the common man. Inspiration and social activities
Mr. Kishan Reddy draws a great deal of his inspiration from Indian nationalist and social reform leader, Shri Jayaprakash Narayan. He draws inspiration from Swami Vivekananda. He wholeheartedly supports the BJP goals of National Integrity.
Mr. Kishan Reddy was actively associated with a number of social, cultural and philanthropic organisations right from the school days. He participated in a variety of constructive programmes aimed at poverty alleviation among targeted groups, extending help to the needy and enhancing awareness among people about social, political, economical and legal issues.
Mr. Kishan Reddy actively participated in rescue and rehabilitation programmes to help the victims of cyclone, foods and the earthquakes.
In college, Kishan Reddy organized agitations to educate students on roles and responsibilities of students and to highlight local governance and administrative issues.
Kishan Reddy took the initiative to organize awareness programs that highlighted government apathy towards tackling terrorism.
Conducted movements to highlight issues of the blind and physically challenged and advocated equal opportunities.
At the Central Institute of Tool Design, Kishan Reddy elected as the president for student's representative committee.
Political Beginning and Inspiration
Kishan Reddy began working fulltime for the party to serve the people. Kishan Reddy's political career started as a normal party worker and gradually grew to a National President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha representing more than 2 crore members.
Kishan Reddy influenced by Swami Vivekananda, who advocated the principles of unity, nationalism, discipline and the power of collective struggle.
Also attracted to the concepts of whole-heartedly supporting a cause one believes in and a person's pursuance of individual perfection which were advocated by Swami Vivekananda.
